Technique Tuesday: Spotlight

This month’s technique is Spotlight. As the name suggests, this puts the spotlight on a small portion of the image by colouring that part and leaving the rest as an outline.

  1. Stamp full outline image. I used Sweetbriar Rose. Spotlight - full image
  2. Stamp the portion of the image that you are going to spotlight on a scrap piece.Spotlight - partial image
  3. Decide the exact part of the image to spotlight.Spotlight - line up in punch
  4. Punch the spotlight portion.Spotlight - punched
  5. Colour the spotlight portion.Spotlight - coloured
  6. Punch out a coloured layer and attach it to the spotlight.Spotlight - layered punch
  7. Line up and attach the spotlight to the full image.Spotlight - spotlight
  8. Complete card as desired.Sweetbriar Rose Daffodil Spotlight

This technique provides a WOW factor with very little effort. Try it with any detailed line art image.
