Do you remember the tie dyed t-shirts from the 60’s? How about translating that into a technique for a card? Jamie Albanese recently provided a tutorial on just that. I used the large Swallowtail from the current Occasions catalogue for my image.
To start, I added a few drops of Pacific Point, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi reinkers on to a baby wipe. This was swiped randomly across a piece of Whisper White. The Swallowtail image was inked with Versamark and stamped over the coloured background, then heat embossed with Clear EP. A brayer inked with Elegant Eggplant was run across the entire piece. The excess ink was wiped off with paper towel and a beautiful tie dyed butterfly appeared. The card base of Naturals White was embossed with the Chevron TIEF and topped with a pennant shape piece of Wild Wasabi DSP. The butterfly was layered onto Wild Wasabi and finished off with three large Pearls.
Thanks Jamie for a nostalgic technique.
