Last Saturday, my sister, a few friends and I attended the Stampin’ Up! Regional Heartfelt Event in Brisbane. It was a magnificent day. We saw lots of different techniques demonstrated, and got to try out many of Stampin’ Up!’s great products. One of the techniques was to use baby wipes to put colour on an acrylic block to create a background. Steph Pike showed some great ideas, one of which I have CASEd here. The only differences are in colours and sentiment.
I took a folded baby wipe and added a few drops of Bashful Blue, Barely Banana [retired], and Chocolate Chip reinkers to create colour strips. The baby wipe was then dragged across the acrylic block a few times to transfer the colour. The block was then finely sprayed with water and stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla. The image from Serene Silhouettes was stamped in Chocolate Chip and added to the background. Then a sentiment from Apothecary Art was added to the base of the vanilla piece. This was layered onto a Chocolate Chip base to produce a stunning, CAS card.
Using the baby wipe a second time, you get a more muted effect as in this card.
