Real Turquoise Sparkly Crumb Challenge

Crafters Anonymous are having a mini challenge this month to use Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and lots of sparkle. My first attempt was to use the Candy Wrapper Die.

I took a piece of acetate and cut it with the Candy Wrapper Die and then embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper TIEF. One of the large images from Ornament Keepsakes was stamped first in Crumb Cake, then Real Red, then Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White card stock. These were then cut with the matching die from the Holiday Ornaments Framelits. A fourth one with no stamping was also cut out for the backing. The three coloured images were scored down the middle and attached to each other and the backing piece to create a 3-d ornament. The 2-way glue pen was used to add Dazzling Diamonds to the swirly parts of each ornament piece. Silver Glimmer Paper was used to create a belly band to attach the ornament. To complete the picture, a bow was made with a piece of Whisper White grosgrain ribbon double stitched with Real Red.

The acetate background makes it very difficult to photograph, so I have taken two photographs and put them side by side. Hopefully you can see how sparkly and Christmassy it is.

I think these are great colours for Christmas so I decided to make a card too.

The base is Crumb Cake, layered with a piece of Whisper White that has been embossed with the Petals-a-Plenty TIEF. One of the stockings from the retired Stitched Stockings set was stamped in the three colours again on Whisper White card stock, and punched out with the retired Stocking Tag punch. Highlight pieces for the heel, toe and top of each stocking were punched with Silver Glimmer paper.

I then took some thin strips of each colour and glued them to a piece of scrap card. This was then cut with the double scallop from the Bigz XL Tasteful Trim die and used to hang the stockings. The sentiment from Greetings of the Season was stamped with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card, fussy cut and added with dimensionals. To add even more sparkle, I used the Dazzling Details Silver Sparkles on the stockings and around the sentiment.

Enjoy
